Privacy Policy

Polite Carrot ("we", "us") publishes small games for iOS, Android, and the web. This policy covers all of our games and this website. We don't collect things like your name or email address — but our games do show ads and use analytics, both of which rely on device-level identifiers. Details below.

Information we collect

We don't collect anything like your name, email address, or precise location. What we do collect:

• Analytics data, through Google Analytics and Firebase — which screens or levels get played, session length, device/OS type, and crash or error reports. This helps us understand how the games are actually played and fix what's broken.
• Advertising data, through Unity Ads — our games are free, and ads are how they stay that way. Unity Ads uses your device's advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA on iOS, or Android's Advertising ID) to personalise ads and measure how they perform.

Gameplay data

Things like your progress, settings, and high scores are saved locally on your own device, using standard local storage. That data never leaves your device, and we never see it. Uninstalling a game removes it. This is separate from the analytics and advertising data described above.

Third-party services

Our games use Google Analytics (GA4) and Firebase for engagement analytics and crash reporting, and Unity Ads to show ads. This website uses Google Analytics only — no ads here. See Google's privacy policy and Unity's privacy policy for players for how they handle that data.

On this website, analytics stays off until you say otherwise — the first time you visit, a banner asks whether that's OK. You can change your answer at any time below. In the games, open Settings and switch off Analytics to stop analytics tracking on that device — it's off within the app immediately, no need to uninstall. This doesn't affect ads, which are a separate service.

Ads and ad personalisation

On iOS, you'll be asked for permission before we can use your device's advertising identifier for personalised ads (Apple's App Tracking Transparency) — you can decline there, or change your answer later in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can limit ad personalisation or reset your advertising ID from Settings → Google → Ads.

Analytics is currently on.

Children's privacy

We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. The analytics data described above is aggregate and isn't used to identify individual players. Our games are made for a general audience. If you'd rather not see personalised ads, decline the tracking prompt on iOS, or limit ad personalisation in your device's settings as described above.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future game adds an online feature that needs it — we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
